During autumn and winter, Isla Contoy becomes a temporary refuge for thousands of birds from the northern part of the continent, transforming the island into a prime location for wildlife observation. The experience begins in the early morning with a pickup and transfer to Punta Sam to set sail for Isla Contoy, also known as Bird Island. Enjoy the boat trip with snacks and light drinks as the Caribbean gradually awakens. Upon arrival at the island, we carefully make our way to the observation tower for birdwatching at dawn, the peak activity time for many species. From this privileged vantage point, you can observe seabirds, shorebirds, and various migratory species coexisting within the island's ecosystems as the light begins to completely transform the landscape. After sunrise, an interpretive trail continues, allowing you to observe the flora and fauna while exploring mangroves, coastal vegetation, and different areas of Isla Contoy. You'll learn about migration, ecosystems, and conservation while enjoying insights into these diverse ecosystems. The morning continues with fresh seasonal ceviche, fruit, drinks, and time to relax by the sea before heading back. Finally, the return trip becomes a scenic cruise along the Caribbean coast, where the sunlight transforms the journey into a marine wildlife viewing route, especially for turtles that often appear during the voyage to Punta Sam.
